Be Afraid - Republican Art Pope Buys North Carolina

An expose on Art Pope, an ultra-right wing Republican money-activist reveals Pope is quietly buying and bullying elections all across North Carolina in an attempt to make the state Republican.

Pope's belief appears to be: If you've got money, buy your elected official. If you don't, well, go to hell and die because you don't count.

His efforts include massive voter disenfranchise efforts, as well as covert political advertisements spreading as much disinformation about opponents that his candidate of choice can get away with (meaning big-money for lies). *This* is not Democracy.

'State for Sale', The New Yorker

Read the article. Then, be afraid. Be very afraid.

Then, hopefully do something about it.
- VOTE !!!
- Call your legislator's office and tell them you want to keep Early-Voting.
- Spread the story about this loser to friends and colleagues.
- He runs numerous discount-stores in NC.
Boycott them and get your friends to boycott them.

Art Pope is the president of Variety Wholesalers, Inc, which owns:
  • Roses Store
  • Maxway Store
  • Super 10 Store
  • Super Dollar Store (though not Dollar General)
  • Bargain Town Store
  • Treasure Mart Store
  • Bills Dollar Store
  • Super Saver Store
  • Value Mart Store
  • Pope Store

I am finding it difficult to find any websites dedicated to countering Pope. If you know any, please comment here.

On Warren Buffet

Posted to Google+ by a friend...

Warren Buffett:
"My friends and I have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress... It's time for our government to get serious about shared sacrifice."

Warren Buffet is a man who realizes that at the society-level, the winner-take-all model results sooner-or-later in an everyone-loses-in-the-end eventuality.

Atheism?

Why would I want to be an athiest?
If I were, I'd have nobody to vent my rage at!
